Manchester United’s marquee summer signing, Benjamin Šeško, remains unfazed by his goalless introduction to Premier League football, insisting he is “staying strong and positive” despite the significant pressure.

The highly-touted Slovenian striker, who arrived from RB Leipzig in a deal worth up to €85 million (£73.8 million, $99.1 million), is yet to register his first goal for Ruben Amorim’s side. His only start came in the Carabao Cup defeat to Grimsby Town, with his three Premier League appearances all coming from the bench.
Adjusting to the Premier League Challenge
Speaking to Slovenian media during the international break, Šeško candidly addressed concerns about his confidence amidst United’s stuttering start to the season, which has seen them win just one of their opening four games.
“As far as my psychological state is concerned, everything is fine because I have people who help me with that,” Šeško affirmed. “I am staying strong and I am positive.”
The 22-year-old acknowledged the stark difference in quality between the Bundesliga and the Premier League, a transition many foreign players find challenging. “The level of the matches is certainly much higher, the players and teammates are also at a higher level,” he explained. “After all, English football is at the highest level in the world of football.”

Despite the initial hurdles, Šeško expressed optimism about his adaptation process. “But I am very much looking forward to the coming period, also because I am getting better and faster in every training session, and I am also progressing in my football mentality every day,” he added. “I wanted to move to England and fortunately my wish came true.”
High Stakes Ahead: Manchester Derby
The return of Premier League action after the international break presents Šeško with a monumental opportunity to silence his critics. Manchester United face fierce rivals Manchester City on September 14th in a highly anticipated derby clash.

“It’s true, it’s an incredibly big match coming up,” Šeško confessed, fully aware of the magnitude of the occasion. “There will simply be some pressure on both sides to just win this match. There’s still quite a bit to go until this match, but we’re definitely looking forward to a top-notch match.”
Looking Forward
While the pressure mounts, Šeško’s positive outlook and determination to adapt suggest he is ready to embrace the challenge. His performances in the coming weeks, particularly against the reigning champions, will be crucial in shaping the narrative of his early career at Old Trafford.

Manchester United fans will be hoping Šeško can quickly find his rhythm and begin to justify the significant investment made in him, helping to turn around the club’s fortunes and lead them back to glory days.
